Some of my ancestors stayed in one place for years. Some hopped around and were a little harder to track down in records. Regardless, the places they stayed are places I would like to visit some day.
Paoay, Ilocos Norte
The far north of the Philippines. My 3x great-grandfather was born here but went further south to start a family in Pangasinan. Some distant relatives live there still. Pictured is the town parish.
Gapan, Nueva Ecija
Currently an industrial town, but was always busy with merchants and a sizable population. My Chinese ancestors (Tuasons) settled here sometime prior to 1750 and were active in the community there.
Mangatarem, Pangasinan
Where my father’s family most recently came from. Nestled in the mountains, it’s been an expanding area over the past couple decades.
