A repository of my genealogical research, with some musings along the way

About

Hi there! My name is Julien, and I’m a college student living and exploring in Washington, D.C. The articles here are a collection of genealogical research, history projects, and other things that I might find interesting. I’ve always loved genealogy and found it to be a challenging yet rewarding journey. Born into a Filipino American family, I’ve always wondered what that meant. Part of that is my lived experience, but it’s just a tip of the iceberg. Understanding the trials, good fortunes, and journeys that my ancestors took to get me to where I am right now has brought me closer to them in a way that I didn’t think was possible. I was inspired to create an archive of sorts here after taking a class on them and figuring that I ought to make one, too. When I’m not in classes, you can find me flipping through microfiche (digitally), running a new route in D.C., or singing a cappella (check out these guys).
